NOTICE OF AVAILABLE GRANT FUNDING FROM THE
FEDERAL S.T.O.P. VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN GRANT PROGRAM

Grant funds are available from the Federal S.T.O.P. (Services*Training*Officers*Prosecutors) Violence Against Women Grant Program for calendar year 2019 to award approximately $2 million to support communities in their efforts to develop and strengthen effective law enforcement and prosecution strategies to combat violent crimes against women; develop and strengthen victim services in cases involving crime against women; and promote a coordinated community response to victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault/rape, and stalking.  Eligible applicants include units of state and local government; Native American Tribes; and nonprofit, community, or faith-based organizations.

In July 2017, the 2018-2021 Kansas STOP Violence Against Women Implementation Plan was developed.  The Implementation Plan will be used to guide the administration of this federal grant program.  Applicants can access a copy of the Implementation Plan at http://www.grants.ks.gov/docs/default-source/Grant-Reports/final-ffy-2017-2020-stop-vawa-implementation-plan.pdf.

The application is available on the Governor’s Grant Portal at https://www.kansas.gov/grants/index.do or download a copy of the application at http://www.grants.ks.gov/opportunities/federal-s-t-o-p-violence-against-women-grant-(s-t-o-p-vawa).  All grant applications must be submitted via the Governor’s Grant Portal by 11:59 p.m., November 8, 2018.  To quickly locate the grant in the Grant Portal, use “WOMEN” for the keyword in your search.
