Who should attend:
The Academy is open to paid staff, volunteers, and college students. It is designed for those with less than three years of experience in the victim services field and for those who provide direct service to victims of crime. All interested participants are encouraged to apply.
Application Process: Applications are accepted year-round for the next year's KAVA.
All interested participants are required to submit an application for consideration.
KAVA Application
**Please note: As you complete the online application, you will be asked to upload a one-page essay. Please prepare this statement in .doc or .pdf format prior to accessing the application and include the following:
- Why you want to attend the Academy and how your participation will be of benefit to you (professionally and personally), your organization, and your community;
- The nature of your contact with crime victims through your past and/or present employment or volunteer duties; and
- Any additional information you believe is important for the applicant selection committee to consider.
Tuition:
Tuition is due after notification of acceptance.
